Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
London’s spectacular Christmas destination Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2016 will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. Celebrating with an array of new attractions and entertainment.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland opened on 18th November 2016 for 6-weeks of festive-fuelled fun. Visitors will be able to experience the atmosphere of this spectacular Christmas destination with FREE entry for all.
For 10 years, guests have flocked to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland to enjoy a host of Christmas traditions.
Skate the UK’s largest outdoor Ice Rink, stretching over 1,600m2. This will once again be located around the picturesque Victorian bandstand. And there will be live music played throughout the day and night as skaters take to the ice for a spin.
For visitors who want to gaze at the action from above, the iconic Giant Observation Wheel will illuminate the skyline.
New this year, the Magical Ice Kingdom presents An Arctic Adventure. A thrilling experience taking adults and children on a voyage across the sea to a frozen island. Guests will see icebergs, a shipwreck trapped in an arctic ice flow. And will be able to explore a lost island on their search for the Palace of the Polar Bears. On your journey, go fishing with the Inuits, take refuge in an igloo and have your photo taken with a giant polar bear. Filled to the brim with awe-inspiring snow and ice sculptures. Also the Magical Ice Kingdom is the biggest ice and snow sculpture experience of its kind in the UK.
Winter Wonderland is also perfect for those looking to do some Christmas shopping whilst soaking up the festive atmosphere. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland boasts a traditional German Christmas market with over 200 chalets. The Angels Christmas Market and Fairies Market offer unusual and handmade gifts and crafts. Stalls including ceramics, candles, jewellery, wooden toys, nativity scenes and Christmas decorations.
Also the hugely popular Bavarian Village returns bigger and better than ever before. So relax in the Bavarian Beer Gardens with covered seating, outdoor bars, cafes and food stalls. There’s Bratwurst sausages , assorted grills, plus traditional dishes in the sit-down restaurants.
Enjoy a mulled wine, hot cider or beer from one of the outdoor bars. And if you feel the cold warm up with a hot chocolate. Also at night, enjoy the festive atmosphere in the Bavarian Hall. With free live music, join the sing-a-long to Oom-pah bands and dance the nignt away.
After work drinks + socialising
For those who want to wander around taking in the sites there are plenty. And there is a host of food and drink available around the venue. Also a range of themed stands, bars, cafes and even sit-down restaurants. So rest assured that wherever you go you’re never far away from the smell of mulled wine!
And Christmas is most definitely a time for family. So Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2016 provides the perfect place to enjoy some festive family fun. So the range of attractions on offer allow for maximum time to spend with the kids. Now with more entertainment than ever for all the family to enjoy.
The UK’s favourite circus, Zippos Circus returns with their ever-popular daytime show. Zippos Christmas Circus is a perfect treat for all the family! This year’s spectacular features aerial acts, acrobatics, jugglers and comedy clowns. Fun-packed from start to finish and at 45 minutes, it’s the perfect length for little ones. The show will be housed once again in the Mega Dome. The biggest circus venue in the UK standing over 65ft tall. And designed especially for Winter Wonderland. Also in the evenings there’s the jaw-dropping daredevil show, Cirque Berserk.
A family Christmas would of course not be complete without, Father Christmas. Take a trip over to Santa Land, a haven for young visitors, where Father Christmas is free to visit. He will be at Santa Land every day until 6pm also with his Elves and a sack of free gifts.
There’s also a Traditional Fairground with beautiful Victorian-style carousel. And a helter skelter and fun rides that both children and adults will love.
Another new this year for the young children and direct from Children’s ITV is Sooty. Sooty makes his debut at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland in The Sooty Christmas Show. Also joining the nation’s favourite bear will be Sweep, Soo and Sooty’s TV partner Richard Cadell. A spectacular mix of magic, music and mess. Showing at 11am every day it will bring guaranteed giggles for Sooty fans old and new!
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2016 is a location to let loose and have some festive fun. So work colleagues and friends head down to Hyde Park for first class entertainment, food & drink and thrill seeking adrenaline rides.
For the evening crowd, head to Cirque Berserk for some daredevil action! Another jaw-dropping and fast-paced show combines well-honed skills and off-the-scale feats that will leave you gasping. Treat yourself to a VIP experience, with a private box with champagne & chocolates and fast-track entry.
Also returning by popular demand is Bar Ice. Also this year there will be two bars on offer, whilst maintaining the intimate feel guests love. Relax from the stresses of everyday life with a chilled cocktail in the stunning arctic environment. Bar Ice has handcrafted bars, tables, walls and sculptures glistening with ice.
And for those adrenaline-seekers, there’s an array of traditional and high energy rides to explore. Rank up the speed on a range of spectacular rollercoasters and heart pumping rides. Alternatively there’s also hilarious themed funhouses and ghost rides. Also try-your-luck games for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground.
The Munich Looping
Finally the Munich Looping, the world’s largest transportable roller coaster, is confirmed for this year’s event. This famous ride is fresh from the popular Oktoberfest in Munich. And will also make its UK debut to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
