Carnaby Street Christmas Lights
Today was the annual street party for the Carnaby Street Christmas lights 2016. All 13 streets in Carnaby became filled with shoppers and party-goers in high spirits. Carnaby throw the ultimate Christmas shopping party and lights switch on.
While the legendary party-starters elrow took the stage at 5pm and were joined by DJ’s Eats Everything, De la swing, George Privatti & Patrick Topping throughout the night. In addition at 6pm, the crowd was wowed by the Carnaby lights switch on. Also with 120kg of confetti fired from canons, 60s inspired inflatables & toys, and tens of stilt-walkers and performers to bring in the Carnaby Christmas Revolution.
You Say You Want a Revolution?
This year’s lights take their inspiration from the V&A’s exhibition You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966-1970 at the V&A until 26 February 2017, which features Carnaby Street at the heart of ‘swinging’ sixties London.
