Having used Canon compact cameras to vlog and blog with before I had often thought I should get a case to protect the delicate lens covers when out & about. So this time when I ordered my latest vlogging camera, the Canon PowerShot S120 I also ordered an official Canon case. The Canon PowerShot S120 case DCC-1920 is described as a soft case by Canon, and it is a leather style case.
Its actually pretty ridged and fits securely to the camera by screwing into the threaded tripod mount. Its a two part case with one part fixing to the camera body and the other held in place with poppers, so it is easily removed and replaced.
Its a well made case, the only problem with its design is that the section covering the delicate lens covers is the part that is soft, so the part that requires the maximum protection is in fact given the minimum by the case. I can only imagine this was done in case the camera is switched on while in the case to protect the lens assembly, but an elasticated section at the lower popper would in my opinion have been a better solution.
